When a trophy fish is pulling hard and running deep, the Smart Shift® reel automatically shifts into low gear to give you the cranking power you need to gain line on your opponent. When that fish comes up jumping or makes a hard charge towards the boat, the Smart Shift® reel automatically shifts back into high gear where it can rapidly pick up slack line to avoid a thrown hook or a foul wrapped fish. All you have to do is TURN THE HANDLE.

Smart Shift® reels are constructed of aircraft grade aluminum, stainless steel, Delrin, Rulon and Nylon – all of which are corrosion proof or corrosion resistant. Unlike any other machined aluminum reel on the market, many of the critical aluminum parts in our reels are commercially hard anodized for maximum wear and corrosion resistance. The combination of a fantastic design, precise production standards and top quality materials makes our Smart Shift® reels reliable and tough performers.
There are 6 Smart Shift® reel models available that are designed to handle line weights from 8 to 80-lb test. The oversize drag system is strong enough, even in our smaller reels, to allow you to utilize today's strong super braid lines, yet smooth enough to control big fish on light tackle.
