Awesome trip with yellowtail up to 82lbs here in New Zealand
I just got off the boat yesterday. We had an awesome trip with yellowtail up to 82lbs here in New Zealand. We lost fish that were well over 100#… but there was no stopping these Mac trucks.
On the fish that I caught… your Smart Shift SST12 reels performed as advertised with my personal best being 36kilos (78 lbs, with 50-lb P-line). Everyone else was fishing 80# and 100# test on 30′s and 50′s…… so I had a few looks from the other guys with my choice of gear. That is until my fish started coming over the rail!!! There were two larger fish caught (buy only by a couple pounds) If you go by IGFA rules….. I blew the other guys away using the little bad boys from Tiburon.
